State's best in 2A

Potts Camp High School had an outstanding day at the Class 2A State Track and Field Championships.

The trip to Pearl Saturday was highlighted by a first-place finish for the Lady Cardinals in the 4x100 meter relay. The time for Dalayni Odom, Lexi Carter, Meeya Gordon, Malasha Faulkner was 53.35.

The same foursome finished second in the 4x200 meter relay. Their time in that race was 1:52.64.

Malasha Faulkner took second in 100-meter dash with a time of 13.63. Dalayni Odom was fourth (13.92).

Lexi Carter was third in the long jump with a distance of 16-00.75.

Other results for the Potts Camp girls were Meeya Gordon, fifth, 200meter dash, 28.64; Malasha Faulkner, fifth, 300-meter hurdles, 54.69.

For the boys, Britten Traylor was eighth in the 400-meter dash (56.91).
