Lady Rebels take third in region meet

Several high school athletes from Marshall and Benton counties are moving on in track competition.

Next up, after their top four finishes in the Region 2-1A Meet this past Saturday at Center Hill High School, is North State.

As far as team scores, the Hickory Flat Lady Rebels finished third overall at the regional. Their 108 points trailed first-place Vardaman with 149 and second- place Myrtle with 139. H.W. Byers was fifth (37) and Ashland sixth (35).

The Ashland boys finished the highest among the local teams. They were fourth with 79 points, trailing first-place West Lowndes with 157, second-place Okolona with 81 and third-place Myrtle with 80. Hickory Flat was sixth (20) and Byers seventh (18).
