72-pounder

Larry Hutchens, Dusty Hutchens, and Knox and Sadie Hutchens caught this 72-pound bighead Asian carp on Father's Day. The fish was about 5-foot long and was caught on a noodle. They had to wear the fish out before the two men handled it and pulled it over the side of the boat. Knox and Sadie thought they had Jaws. These fish are bad news for the lakes as they eat the food that larger fish feed on, and they reproduce rapidly. They are coming from Kentucky Lake through the locks that the barges enter on Pickwick. This fish was in Bear Creek on Pickwick Lake.
