Moving on to state playoffs

Marshall Academy hosts Indianola Academy Friday

The Marshall Academy Patriots, who received a first-round bye as District 1-3A champions, will host Indianola Academy this Friday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. in the second round of the state playoffs. This is the 13th straight post-season appearance for Marshall. The Patriots (5-4) are the number three seed in the playoff field and the Colonels (7-4) are the sixth seed. Indianola defeated 11th-seeded Tunica Academy 35-6 last week in round one. This is the Patriots’ first meeting with the Colonels, a former district rival, since 2012. The Marshall versus Indianola winner will advance to the Friday, Nov. 15, state semi-finals versus the winner of Winona Christian and Centreville Academy.
