Wheatley Abram Brown Jr.
Wheatley Abram Brown Jr., 66, of Columbus, formerly of Holly Springs, died Sept. 25, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Center in Jackson. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, a 1970 graduate of Holly Springs High School, member of the male chorus, attended Northwest Community College and was a Vietnam War veteran, and retired in 1993 as an egress system technician in the U.S. Air Force.
Visitation will be held from 1-6 p.m. on Oct. 2 at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home; and from 10 a.m.-10:55 a.m. on Oct. 3, at New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Rev. Zachery Beasley will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden.
He leaves three children, Wheatley Abram Brown III of Egypt, Jason Jermaine Brown of Aberdeen, Fredrica Chontelle Jeffries Jones of Collierville, Tenn.; his father, Wheatley A. Brown Sr., of Holly Springs; two sisters, Charles Ann Hayes of Horn Lake, Sandra Gaskin of Layton, Utah; five grandchildren and one greatgrandson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carnell Jones Brown.
