Bishop Donald "Donell" Washington

Bishop Donald "Donell" Washington, 63, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Ashland, died Sept. 23, 2019, at Methodist Hospital in Germantown, Tenn. He was a member of Greater Bethlehem Temple Ministries Inc. in Memphis where he served as a church bishop. He was a forklift operator at W.M. Barr and Co. in Memphis.

Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Oct. 4 at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home; and from 9:30-10:55 a.m. on Oct. 5 at Greater Faith Tabernacle Ministries, 905 East Shelby Drive, Memphis. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Bishop Christopher V. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery and Mausoleum in Memphis.

He leaves his wife, Carolyn D. Jennings Washington; three children, Ervin J. Ard of Memphis, Taniel P. Jones of Olive Branch, Arneshela McKenzie of Memphis; his mother, Pearlie Mae Preston Washington of Ashland; his father, James Washington Jr. of Ashland; four sisters, Elaine Hampton and Sandra Bowen, both of Ashland, Annette Seldon of Red Banks, Sharon Franklin of Mt. Pleasant; four brothers, James L. Washington, Kelvin Washington and Dewayne Washington, all of Olive Branch, Lee Andrew Washington of Ashland; 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
