Amazing story of a balloon
Each year the kindergarten students at Marshall Academy celebrate the 100th Day of School. Sometimes this tradition is accompanied by a balloon release which includes a note about the event and school. This summer kindergarten teacher Mindy Gresham received a letter from Chris Ivy of Fairview, Tenn. He had been picking blackberries on his farm and found a balloon that had been released to celebrate the 100th Day of School. The amazing part of this story is the fact the balloon was from 2008, which was easily identified by its card. Five Marshall Academy seniors were members of the kindergarten class in 2008. (From left) Waylon Langston, Erin Burleson, Sonni McKinney, Amanda Barnett and Grady Brooks are pictured in the top photo with the letter from Ivy and the original note which accompanied the balloon. A close-up version of the original note and the letter from Ivy are also shown. Fairview is 204 miles away.
