Rev. Samuel Adam Phillips Sr.

Rev. Samuel Adam Phillips Sr., 94, of Holly Springs, died August 1, 2019, at his home. He was a member of Chulahoma MB Church, a former pastor at McIntyre MB Church, Jones Grove MB Church, Mt. Sinai MB Church, Powell Chapel MB Church, and Union Valley MB Church. He retired after 52 years at Pleasant Grove MB Church in Red Banks.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home Aug. 7 from 2-7 pm. and with the family from 5-7 p.m.; and Aug. 8 from 10-10:55 a.m. at Chulahoma MB Church. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Pastor Julian Spencer will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden.

He leaves his wife, Linzell Jones Phillips; four daughters, Dorothy Phillips Young of Holly Springs, Shirley Phillips Perpener of Collierville, Tenn., Ruby Phillips Wilkins of Holly Springs, Aretha Phillips Williams of Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, Samuel Adam Phillips Jr. of Olive Branch, Ben Earl Phillips of Aurora, Ill.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Frank Henry Phillips.
