Effie Lee Jenkins Walton

Effie Lee Jenkins Walton, 72, of Southaven, formerly of Holly Springs, died Oct. 29, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in Germantown, Tenn. She was a domestic worker for the Walter Utley family.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 3 at St. Paul CME Church, where she was a member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden.  Rev. Willie Ward officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a son, Noah Johnson (Latonia) of Byhalia; a daughter, Karen Walton of Holly Springs; a sister, Mary Helen Pegues of Holly Springs; 26 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five children, Joseph Johnson, Charles Franklin Walton, Cynthia Michelle Walton, Mamie T. Perkins, Deborah Walton Jeffries; and eight siblings, Margaret Jenkins, Moethel Glover, Cynthia Jenkins, Bobby Hubbard, Etta Hunt, Essie Hankins, Beulah Jenkins, Lynwood Lee Stinson.
