Another successful Hummingbird Celebration

Holly Springs was buzzing with activity over the weekend as thousands flocked to town for the annual hummingbird migration. Once again, Strawberry Plains Audubon Center outdid themselves. Nature lovers from all over the country converge for this one special weekend to learn more about the hummers prior to their migration. Lots of other demonstrations were also shown to attendees, as well as incredible concessions. Kudos to everyone who had a hand in putting on another successful three days of fun and learning.

The Bottomless Cup was a flurry of activity over the weekend as well, with live music performed by Robert Kimbrough Sr. The eclectic and funky coffee shop also offers a plethora of wonderful treasures for sale. It is worth the stop to go in and browse, even sit awhile for great conversation at the round table in the back! They are always welcoming and there is always something fun going on in there!

The Marshall Academy Patriots played Kirk Academy Friday night at Heath Barnett Field. They handily took down the AAA team, sending them back to Grenada with a 34-14 loss. The Patriots travel to Lexington this week to face their first district opponent, Central Holmes.
