Alice Buchanan visits from Alabama

Alice Buchanan of Auburn, Ala., is visiting with her mother, Frances Buchanan. While here, she watched the Ole Miss Rebels tromp Texas Tech at Becky Cupp’s home along with other friends. Immediately afterwards, the Auburn game was on, so it got watched as well.

Local artist, Steve Elgin, was highlighted at the All Arts Holly Springs meeting last week. The Apothecary on the square was the venue for Steve to explain and showcase his artwork. Although he is extremely humble about his work, nothing he ever paints or lays pen and ink to is short of extraordinary. If you have a piece of his work, or more, you are truly blessed!

Mary Randal Henson of Leland, visited with family, Lacy and Jeffrey Tollison and their daughters, over the weekend.

Coming off a crushing loss to West Memphis, the Marshall Academy Patriots were up to task last Friday night at Falkner in Tippah County. No doubt having to prove something, the team ripped up the field and down, putting up 48 points by the end game buzzer to Falkner’s 22. Parents and students alike got behind the Patriots and hollered the majority of the game, even getting into a “cheer-off” with the Falkner cheerleaders across the field. Let’s keep that trend going this coming week at Heath Barnett Field when the Patriots host the Raiders from Kirk Academy!

Get well wishes go out to Mack Smith, who is convalescing at home with the care of his parents, Amanda and Kent, and siblings, Jack Whaley, Brennan and Dottie.
