Lions lose to ’Cats

H.W. Byers hung with Walnut in the early going Friday night but then stumbled.

A scoreless game at the end of the first quarter ended in a 52-8 loss for the Lions.

“I thought we played a pretty good game early on,” coach Chris Daniels said. “We caused two turnovers in the first quarter and had a 77-yard touchdown run (by Malik Glover) called back because of a block in the back.”

Glover was then injured in the second quarter and didn’t return to the game.

Zachary Snow was out of the game due to an injury he suffered versus Myrtle the week before.
