Margaret Ann Houston

Margaret Ann Houston, born April 21, 1946, to the loving parents of Henry F. and Anna M. (Henderson) Williams of Holly Springs, Mississippi, passed away on August 14, 2018, at the age of 72.

Margaret graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Holly Springs, Mississippi, in 1966. She worked for Holly Springs Head Start Center before moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

In Milwaukee Margaret worked for Milwaukee Public Schools for 30-plus years and retired from Browning Elementary School.

Margaret, a Roman Catholic, was a strong and loving woman. Margaret’s hobbies included art, playing cards, watching baseball and cooking, of which she made amazing fried chicken, mouth-watering, smothered pork chops, and outstanding, homemade macaroni and cheese, to name a few items on her menu.

Margaret Houston was preceded in death by her father, Henry F. Williams; her mother, Anna M. (Henderson) Williams; and a sister, Henrietta (Williams) Jourdain.

She is survived by her son, Anthony Paul Houston and grandson, Anthony Jacob Houston. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Julia Williams of Holly Springs, MS, and Juanita (Johnny) Dantzler of Troy, MI; a brother, Henry F. Williams Jr. (Elaine) of Oxford, MS; a cousin, Mae Frances Martin of Milwaukee, WI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services were held Friday, August 24, 11 a.m., at Ebenzer Church of God in Christ in Milwaukee, WI. Rev. Jonathan Saffold, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI.
