MA improves to 22-4

The Marshall Academy softball team survived a close clash on the road last week to stay perfect in District 1-AA play.

The Lady Patriots scored all their runs in the fourth inning and held on to beat Central Holmes Chris­tian 3-1 Tuesday, Aug. 21, in Lexing­ton.

MA improved to 4-0 versus district competition.

Hallie Turner opened the top of the fourth with a single to right field. Later, Carlie Vannucci singled, and Abby Bell walked to load the bases for Rayne Rippee, who came through in the clutch with a triple to center field and three runs-batted-in.
