Marshall Academy’s trip across the Mississippi River Friday night is one the Patriots would like to forget.
The Class AA Patriots struggled on both sides of the football and fell 32-14 to West Memphis Christian (Ark.), the defending Class A state champion.
“It was a meltdown from the top, starting with me,” head coach Barrett Donahoe said. “We were not prepared. It was a complete breakdown in everything we do. And we will fix it.”
The Black Knights led 20-14 at halftime. Their three touchdowns came on pass plays of 72, 2 and 43 yards.
