City approves Jam Session 2018; it starts Thursday

The Holly Springs Board of Aldermen approved a series of musical events on the downtown square dubbed Holly Springs Jam Session 2018.

The stage will be set up on the downtown square on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. on August 16, 23, and 30. The fare will be country, rhythm and blues, rock – all performed by local talent.

A special event to be held in September on the Saturday before Labor Day was also discussed and that event will be staged in Spring Hollow Park, if the mayor and board set that in motion.

The board approved an expenditure of $3,500 to cover the cost of setting up the sound stage and providing portable toilets for the August jam sessions. Holly Springs Tourism and Recreation Bureau has agreed to foot the bill for entertainment, Mayor Kelvin Buck said.
