Lady Pats keep on winning

Marshall Academy was up to the challenge Saturday at home and stayed undefeated on the season.

“It was two great wins over two great teams (Bayou Aca­demy and Magnolia Heights School),” coach Carlton Gibson said. “We still have work to do, but being 15-0 feels really good. We just can’t let our foot off the gas pedal.”

MA freshman pitcher Carlie Vannucci struck out 13 and gave up only one hit in a 3-0 victory over Bayou.

“Once again she pitched beyond her years,” Gibson said. “Thirteen strikeouts – that’s huge.”
