‘Productive day’ for Patriots

Coach Barrett Donahoe got a preview of his Marshall Academy football team Fri­day afternoon.

“There’s a lot to be proud of and a lot to work on,” he told his Patriots after a pair of scrimmages.

MA faced Heritage Aca­demy in a 40-play matchup (20 offense and 20 defense) on half the football field and then Leake Academy 48 plays (24 offense and 24 defense). Pillow Academy in Green­wood hosted the event.

Marshall is a Class AA school in the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools, while both Heritage and Leake are AAA.
