Ladies enjoy visiting childhood friend, Rita Cochran, and relaxing on Dauphin Island, Ala.

William Carlton of Birmingham, Ala., is attending Camp Mississippi this week. His counselors are Vicki and Walter Webb, who have fun adventures planned for him. He is also attending Vacation Bible School at Christ Episcopal Church.

Becky Cupp, Bea Green, Robin Seale and Kay Wheeler returned Saturday from a little jaunt to Dauphin Island, Ala., where they stayed with childhood friend, Rita Cochran Langus. The ladies enjoyed relaxing days at the beach and wonderful hospitality.

I would like to let anyone know if you are in dire need of emergency care, 911 delivers that! A wonderful paramedic named Jacob helped with an emergency situation Saturday. He explained that I-240 was under construction and gave explicit directions on how to get to the hospital quickly and safely. Not only did he get the patient transported, he waited in the emergency room until family arrived. Once there, he informed them of how the patient was during the ride. He absolutely went above and beyond his call of duty. In situations such as that, family is completely discombobulated and not always with the program. He made sure his kind words eased the situation and the minds of the family. Kudos to Jacob, one fine paramedic helping in a super hairy situation!
