Local wedding featured on ESPN

Harriett Tyson was laid to rest Saturday in Hill Crest cemetery beside her father. Helen and Jack Tyson from Nashville, Tenn., came for the service, as well as her friends.

Robin McNeill flipped a number last week! She was surprised with a dinner at Law’s Hill Fish House by her daughters, Megan Richard and Bronwyn Clanton, who arranged for friends to meet and wish her well. Here’s to many, many more years of junkin’ to my beautiful friend!

Congratulations to Lauralee and Taylor Nowell, who exchanged their vows June 9, in a beautiful ceremony in the First Presbyterian Church. The couple was showered with rose petals when leaving the church in a horse drawn carriage. They arrived at Montrose to dance the night away at their reception.

Lauralee was even featured on ESPN during the Mississippi State baseball game! Jake Mangum, Taylor’s best man, is also the center fielder and team leader for the Bulldogs. He played in the super regional game that night and after a super long arm throw from center to third (catching that runner), Lauralee led the State chant from the reception, cowbells and all! The next night, during the last of the series, Mangum threw down yet another runner and they replayed the chant.

The couple honeymooned in St. Lucia. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness!
