Baria, Sherman move to June 26 Democratic runoff

Less than 10 percent of Marshall County’s registered voters turned out for last week’s primary elections.
According to unofficial final totals, only 2,374 voted in the primaries for U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives.
The Democratic Primary for U.S. Senate included six candidates. In Marshall County, the top three vote-getters were Omeria Scott with 500, David Baria 305 and Howard Sherman 269.
According to statewide returns, Baria and Sherman led the ticket, and they are headed to a runoff on Tuesday, June 26.
