James Bonnell Mason

James Bonnell Mason, 60, of Michigan City, died Feb. 27, 2018, at his home. He was a former Benton County Justice Court Judge, a member of Hebron MB Church in Lamar, a minister and church deacon. He was a former mail carrier.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on March 3 at Miracle Temple Salt and Light Ministries in Lamar. Burial was in Hebron MB Church Cemetery.  Rev. Andre Williams officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Vera Allen Mason; four children, Cassandra Crutcher of Memphis, Tenn., Detra Mason of Mt. Pleasant, LaBrishia Allen, Jonathan Mason, both of Michigan City; five sisters, Cora Hampton, Elma Allen, Linda Cleveland, all of Memphis, Maggie Ayers of Lamar, Shirley Griffin of Holly Springs; four brothers, L.G. Mason, Troy Mason, both of Holly Springs, Bishop L.T.  Mason, Freddie Reaves, both of Memphis; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Effie Stephens.
