Skywarn training set for March 15
Area residents are invited to attend a Skywarn Storm Spotter Training Program that will be held at the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Building on Thursday, March 15. The program runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The building is located at 235 North Memphis Street in Holly Springs.
With spring severe storm season approaching in the Mid-South, residents are encouraged to learn more about tornadoes and severe storms and how to protect family members during severe weather. Tornado season has already begun in the Mid-South and extends from March to May.
Hugh Hollowell, Marshall County emergency management coordinator, said the program is more for community awareness than anything else.
