Lady Cards take third in tourney

The Potts Camp Lady Cardinals finished third in last week’s Region 2-1A Tourna­ment at Falkner.

Coach Brad Wren’s team beat Ashland in round one, lost to top seed Hickory Flat in the semi-finals and then knocked off West Union in the consolation contest.

The Lady Cards tipped off tournament play with a 65-36 win over Ashland on Tuesday of last week.

The contest was close at the half, a 27-21 Potts Camp advantage. The Lady Cardi­nals increased their lead to 43-32 after three periods. Then they outscored Ashland 22-4 in the fourth to win by 29.
