Talks continue about new track

It likely will be at least another year before a track will be built for use by Holly Springs School District athletes.

R.J. Wilson and superintendent Irene Turnage went before the Marshall County Board of Supervisors and the city board of aldermen trying to see if there is enough support locally for the track and field program at Holly Springs High School.

The school has been practicing on the track at Marshall Academy but wants to be able to host out-of-town teams and to build the track program at the school.

David Beckley, president of Rust College, also has offered the college track facilities, which would have to be upgraded.
