Melvin Lewis Garrison

Melvin Lewis Garrison, 53, of Byhalia, died Jan. 3, 2018, at his home. He retired from St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. in 2015, as a janitor.

Visitation will be Jan. 12 from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home, and at the church on Jan. 13 from 9-9:55 a.m..

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Jan. 13 at Mt. Zion Taska MB Church in Cayce, where he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Harvey Garrison will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves a daughter, Bionka Kizer of Byhalia; two adopted daughters, Beatrice Renee Garrison of Byhalia, Ebony Veshields of Memphis, Tenn.; his mother, Geneva Todd Garrison of Byhalia; his father, Edward Lewis Garrison of Olive Branch; two brothers, Lewis Edward Garrison of Olive Branch, Robert Dwayne Garrison of Bartlett, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
