John L. Reliford

John L. Reliford, 57, of Lamar, died Jan. 5, 2018, at Methodist Germantown Hospital. He was a disabled mechanic for the Benton County Schools bus shop.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Jan. 12 from 2-7 p.m. and with family from 6-7 p.m., and at the church, Jan. 13, from 1:30 to 2:25 p.m.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 13 at Greenwood MB Church in Lamar, where he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Dr. Patrick Washington will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves a daughter, Matilda Everett of Olive Branch; three sons, Jeremy Walls of Southaven, Joshua Reliford of Olive Branch, John L. Reliford Jr. of Salt Lake City, Utah; his mother, Beatrice Muse Reliford of Lamar; five sisters, Georgia Bean of Killeen, Texas, Lula Turnage, Luda Tennial, both of Holly Springs, Irean Reliford of Lamar, Jerlean Ross of Woodbridge, Va.; three brothers, Willie B. Reliford Jr. of Holly Springs, Osker Reliford of Memphis, Tenn., Jerry Reliford of Michigan City; two grandchildren and his financée, Brenda Gibson of Lamar; .

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie B. Reliford, and two brothers, Mack B. Reliford and Corneail Reliford.
