Utility department to take bids on Ashland Substation

The Holly Springs Utility Department is preparing to seek interim financing to rebuild the Ashland Substation.
Bill Stone, HSUD general manager, and Scott Burleson, with Allen & Hoshel Architects, met with the mayor and board of aldermen to discuss equipment needs for the work.
Holly Springs Utility Department will spend about $2.5 million to rebuild the Ashland Substation. The Tennessee Valley Authority is spending $17 million to install new utility lines from Holly Springs to the Ashland Substation.
When complete, the system will provide a more reliable source of power for the area.
