Walter Vernon Brown

Walter Vernon Brown, 81, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 20, 2017, at his home. He was a retired construction worker.

Services were held at 12 noon on Dec. 28 at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel. Minister Travis Johnson officiated. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery.

He leaves eight children Vernette (Donald Lee) Clayborn-Wood, Rose Brown, both of Chicago, Ill., Dorothy Jean Birks and James Birks, both of Oakland, Tanja Brown of Memphis, Tenn., Rotosha Sinkfield of San Antonio, Texas, Lisa Perkins Harris and Lameshia (Danny) Stinson Hankins of Holly Springs; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his caregiver, Rodney Fambrough.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, John L. Brown, Frank Brown, Sam Brown Jr., James Brown and Fred Brown; four sisters, Alma Johnson, Carolyn Tolbert, Earnestine Suggs, and Marie Gordon.
