Netti Skelton

Nettie Wilson-Skelton, age 93, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2017, at The Christian Care Center of Memphis, Tenn. Mrs. Skelton was born on December 24, 1924, in the Early Grove Community. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Holly Springs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Fannie Sheppard Wilson and her daughter Jan Davis. She is survived by her daughters Pam Hurdle, of Holly Springs and Becky Harris (Louis), of Memphis, and her precious grandsons, David Taylor Harris and Daniel Miles Harris of Memphis.

Her fondest memories were of her Sunday school friends who remembered her often with cards of encouragement and her years as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mrs. Skelton was an original “Rosie” having built B-52 bombers at Fisher Aircraft during WWII. She will also be remembered as “Miss Nettie”, working for many years at Boyette’s Grocery.

The family received friends, at Holly Springs Funeral Home on Sunday, December 31 at 3 p.m. with the memorial service beginning at 4 p.m.

Memorial donations in memory of Miss Nettie can be made to the VFW or Wounded Warriors.
