Police look for suspect in armed robbery

The Holly Springs Police Department is looking for the public’s help in identifying an armed robbery suspect.

December 19, at approximately 7:20 p.m. Holly Springs officers responded to an armed robbery call in the 100 block of South Memphis Street at Sonya’s Tobacco and Beer, Chief Dwight Harris said.

It was reported a masked suspect came inside the business and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect is believed to be a black male wearing all black with a blue mask covering his face, and he had white gloves on his hand, Harris said. He was approximately 5’8” to 6’ tall and looked to weigh around 160 to 175 pounds.

If anyone has any information in reference to this crime please contact the Holly Springs Police Department at 662-252-2122.

This was the second armed robbery on South Memphis Street in downtown Holly Springs this month. The Tobacco Center, just across the intersection from Sonya’s, was held up by two armed robbers on December 10.
