Hollis Richard Brooks, 75, of Byhalia, died Nov. 28, 2017. He was retired from the Ford Motor Company after 30 years and from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Dept. after 40 years as an officer in the Reserves.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Lynda Brooks; a son, Wayne Brooks (Mary); daughter, Belinda Spray (Kinney), all of Byhalia; two brothers, Edwin Stainton (Linda) of Grandall, Ga., Frank McGee (Nancy) of Scott, La.; two half-sisters, Patricia Roberson (Lloyd) of Starkville, Shirley Swain (Dave) of Oakland; and a grandson.
