Son charged with killing his father

A shooting Saturday, Dec. 2, at about 6:45 a.m. took the life of a 78-year-old Holly Springs man, according to police chief Dwight Harris.

Harris said Alvin Gulledge was shot at his residence at 621 Colonial Drive and died before he could be airlifted to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.

Officers developed a suspect, the chief said, and a warrant was issued for the victim’s son.

Kalvin Antuan Turner, 27, the victim’s son, turned himself in at the Marshall County jail Sunday just after 6 a.m., according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.

Turner surrendered to a jailer, the sheriff said.
