Larry Newsom

Larry Newsom, 68, of Temple City, Calif., formerly of Holly Springs, died Nov. 18, 2017, at Santa Anna Convalescent Home in Temple City. He was a barber.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 2 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Holly Springs. Rev. Keith Mason will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves children, Toby Newsom Perkins (Kenny) of Virginia Beach, Va., Deanna M. Newsom of Chicago, Ill., Pilar Newsom Jones, Stacey Newsom, both of Atlanta, Ga., LeKeith Jones of Aurora, Joy Jones-Minor (Dorian), Breonna Lester, both of Chicago, Lyric I. Powell, Larry Newsom Jr., Latisha Newsom, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters, Carolyn Newsom-Jones, Cathy Elliott-Brittenum, Valerie Elliott-Floyd, Vivian Elliott-Davis, all of Holly Springs, Jean Elliott Greene of Aurora; a brother, Michael Elliott of Holly Springs; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother Harry “Bully” Newsom.
