Gloria A. Thompson Williams

Gloria A. Thompson Williams, 64, of Palmetto Ga., formerly of Holly Springs, died Nov. 17, 2017, at her home. She was a member of Great Faith Ministry and New Bethel Outreach Ministry in Decatur, Ga. She began a singing career in 1971, recording her first 45 at Stax Records “I Call Him Jesus.”  She was a former early childhood educational teacher.

Services were held at 12 noon on Nov. 25 at New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries in Holly Springs. Burial was in Kimbrough Chapel MB Church Cemetery in Lamar. Rev. Earnest Jordan officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband, Elder Arnold Williams; four children, Calvin Woods of Jonesboro, Ga., Tracy Woods of Palmetto, Marcus Woods of East Point, Ga., Jeremy Woods of Stone Mountain, Ga.; her mother, Pearlie Howell of Holly Springs; a sister, Carolyn Thompson of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Jessie Thompson of Holly Springs, Curtis Thompson of  Memphis, Steven Thompson of Ripley; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
