Holly Springs police officers to host free training session

In light of recent events and an increase in active shooter incidents across the United States, the Holly Springs Police Department invites community members, government officials, clergy and school officials to a free, one-hour training.
Topics will include recognizing the signs of an active shooter; business, school and church preparedness; what to do if caught in an active shooter event; and interaction with law enforcement during an active shooter event.
The training will be held Thursday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. at the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Building.
“We hope this training will be both informative and reassuring that the Holly Springs Police Department is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community we serve,” said police chief Dwight Harris.
