Holly Springs initiates revitalization
After a special meeting October 24 to discuss downtown revitalization topics, the Holly Springs board of aldermen passed six measures that would include community input in implementing a five-year plan.
The plan works toward a long-sought facelift that would boost the city and help it prosper.
The following motions were on the table for action:
• authorize board attorney Shirley Byers and the Historic Preservation Commission to draft updated historic district ordinance resolution proposal. Alderman Tim Liddy wanted to look at the proposed districts and sites beforehand.
Mayor Kelvin Buck said the motion is just to study what citizens want and have it brought back to the board for review/approval.
The board voted 4-1 for the study with alderman Christy Owens voting against the measure.
