Holly Springs had the tall task of facing Olive Branch on the Conquistadors’ home floor to tip off the basketball season.
And this one didn’t go the Hawks’ way. They fell 114-76 Saturday night.
“All credit to Olive Branch,” said Sylvester Kilgore, head coach of the Class 3A Hawks. “Our team was out-rebounded and played poorly in transition defense, and as a result, they got off to a quick start which had us playing behind all night.”
The Class 5A Conquistadors stormed to a 29-15 lead after one quarter and were up 62-35 at halftime.
