Charles E. Rucker
Charles E. Rucker, 83, of Holly Springs, died Oct. 19, 2017, at his home. The widow of Dorothy Preston Rucker, he was a retired heavy equipment operator at Standard Construction Co. He was a former member of the mass choir and male chorus.
Visitation will be Oct. 27 from 2-7 p.m. and with the family from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home, and at the church on Oct. 28 from 10-10:55 a.m.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 28 at Hebron MB Church in Lamar, where he was a member. Minister Charles Preston will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a daughter, Michelle Hannah of Chicago, Ill.; three sons, Rev. Charles Preston, Jerry L. Rucker, both of Holly Springs, Pastor Dwight A. Rucker of Michigan City; four sisters, Betty Johnson of Chicago, Rena Mae Treble of Memphis, Tenn., Helen Anderson of Chicago, Ruth Rashada of Milwaukee, Wisc.; six brothers, James Walls of Holly Springs, Harry Walls, Larry Walls, Calvin Wall, all of Chicago, Sammy Greer of Holly Springs, James Greer of Columbus; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Clydia Walls.
