Hawks pick up district victory
Holly Springs put together a solid offensive performance Friday night to get a district road win.
Dylan King threw for 111 yards and Joshua Kimble ran for 101 more as the Hawks knocked off Coahoma AHS 23-20 in Region 2-3A action.
“We executed, played hard and got the win,” coach Donald Deans said. “We executed in the red zone, and I was particularly proud of that.”
The Hawks led 8-0 at halftime, thanks to a 1-yard touchdown run by Anthony Richmond and a two-point conversion by Kadarreon Lumpkin.
In the third, King threw a screen pass to Andrew Martin for six points. Then Roy Vaughn tossed to Xavier Scruggs for the two. Holly High was up 16-0.
