Davis runs Biggersville past Byers

Coach Chris Daniels never thought he’d see his H.W. Byers football team have this problem.

“For the first time in my five years, we just didn’t hit, and normally we are a physical football team,” he said.

Biggersville’s Quamon Davis ran for 269 yards and four touchdowns in the Region 1-1A contest as Byers lost 39-6.

“We just didn’t want to come up and hit him,” Daniels said. “He runs hard, very aggressively, but we’ve played bigger backs.”

He said “three or four turnovers” didn’t help the Lions’ cause either.

One of those fumbles came on their first possession, which Biggersville turned into an early touchdown.
