Weatherbee’s big night leads Thrasher to district win over Cards

Potts Camp had its hands full Friday night with Thrasher’s Shawn-Dalton Weatherbee.

“He was just too much for us,” said Markeith Washington, head coach of the Cardinals.

Weatherbee scored five touchdowns and had 319 all-purpose yards as the host Rebels won the Region 1-1A match-up 40-12.

He rushed for 193 yards and had scoring runs of 4, 10 and 52 yards. He returned a punt 49 yards and caught a pass of 57 yards for a score.

“He pretty much did what he wanted to do,” Washington said. “He is a super athlete.”
