Potts Camp schools were placed on lockdown Wednesday morning, Oct. 4, while law enforcement arrested a man who had allegedly made threats, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.
The lockdown orders were lifted about midmorning, he said.
Garland Gregory Holmes Jr., 45, of West Pontotoc Street, Potts Camp, was taken into custody without incident at his home, the sheriff said.
“I, along with deputies, was notified of what the individual was alleging he would do,” Dickerson said.
