Steakhouse seeks resort status; ARC approves infrastructure grant

Randall Swaney is moving forward with his application and preparations on the grounds for a resort district at his Marshall Steakhouse property on Highway 178 West.

He and attorney Bill Schneller brought to the board of supervisors the information required to apply for resort status. That included three letters of support from civic organizations, boundary descriptions of the property, a letter from the sheriff approving the application, and a public hearing for public comment.

Schneller said the public hearing will be held at a later date on the resort zoning request.

According to state law, liquor cannot be sold in the county without obtaining a resort zoning permit. The board, during the recent meeting, approved a motion allowing beer to be sold at Marshall Steakhouse.
