Holly Springs board OKs hirings, approves travel for training

The mayor and board of aldermen in Holly Springs have begun a new term by staffing some departments, working on the new fiscal year budget and keeping projects alive.
Some of the recent actions include:
• hiring of certified police officers at the Holly Springs Police Department and filling in clerk positions. The police department is fully staffed with uniformed officers for the first time since Dwight Harris took over as chief in Mayor Kelvin Buck’s first term.
