Ben Franklin Burns

Ben Franklin Burns, 56, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Ashland, died April 7, 2017, at Roseland Community Hospital in Chicago. He was a member of Rayfield MB Church in Chicago and a graduate of Ashland High School. He was employed with C&J Roofing in Chicago.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on April 15 at Greenwood MB Church in Lamar, where he was a former member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Houston Evans officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves three sisters, Ardency Baird, Eloise Turnage, both of Ashland, Arbidella Leonard of Chicago; and two brothers, Joe Burns of Ashland and Cornell Moore of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Theolia Peter Burns Jr. and Berneice Terry Burns; and a sister, Angela Michelle Burns.
