Cards fall to ’Dogs in round one of state

Potts Camp had a long road trip to the Delta for round one of the Class 2A State Tournament and battled hard against a bunch of Bulldogs.

The Cardinals grabbed an early lead and trailed by eight at halftime before dropping a 67-55 decision to Riverside near Greenville.

Alec Smith’s three put coach Kenzaki Jones’ squad up 8-4 in the first. The visiting squad led 11-8 after the first quarter.
