County tax sale to go online
Tax collector Betty Byrd, reporting to the Marshall County Board of Supervisors, turned in several items she said will save taxpayers money and make transactions easier.
Next year, those who want to bid on properties in the tax sale will have to go online.
There are a number of aspects of online bidding, Byrd said. And her office will be available to show bidders how to place bids online.
A bidder will be able to go online and look at the property before bidding, and if the bidder wants to, he/she can set a maximum bid before the auction starts, said Terry Byrd, information technology expert for the county board of supervisors.
