Board OKs refinancing of bond

Bond attorneys returned to the Holly Springs Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting recently to pitch the refinancing of the police station general obligation bonds.

Brad C. Davis, attorney with Jones Walker in Jackson, proposed the city take advantage of low interest rates now to pay off the old bond and refinance the debt with a lower interest bond.

The general obligation police station bond for $3.5 million was put into place in 2008 to purchase the Williams Medical Building and retrofit it for police station use. Prior to that the station was housed in the old incubator on the Mississippi Industrial College campus.
