Zinn seeks space for food pantry

With the City of Holly Springs getting the old Sims School campus ready for use, people are coming forth with ideas and requests to use the building.

George Zinn III recently sought approval from the Holly Springs Board of Aldermen to use some of the space in the cafeteria. His non-profit, North Mississippi Community Research Training and Development, runs a food pantry in the Victoria area but is short on space, he said.

“I feel we can provide food and nutritional things for children,” Zinn said.

Mayor Kelvin Buck explained that a few rooms in the old cafeteria at the Sims campus had been used to store food. A transition team has been formed to hear requests for use of space in the buildings on the campus.
